Promoting innovative ideas is essential in order to improve processes and identify opportunities or products that could meet new needs. Examples of this are our olivoteca and the research mill, as well as the agreements we have in place with various universities. We also promote studies related to health, such as the Alzheimer's Research Chair.
OLIVE TREE MUSEUM AND RESEARCH CENTER
Hacienda Guzmán hosts an olive tree museum with more than 150 varieties from 13 countries around the world. This museum allows us to study the properties and particularities of trees from diverse places as Portugal, Greece, Syria or Albania. It is a unique place where visitors can perceive the diversity of the world of the olive grove.
The production of each variety is analyzed every year in the research mill and, in this way, thanks to the results obtained we can promote the development of R+D+I projects.
RESEARCH CHAIR IN ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE
The Juan Ramón Guillén Foundation cooperates with the Faculty of Medicine at the Complutense University of Madrid in the development of the special research chair in Alzheimer’s disease and neurodegenerative diseases.
The aim of the chair is analysis, research and teaching in this field of knowledge, studying, among other things, the role played by olive oil in the prevention of these diseases. According to forecasts, the results will be known by the end of 2017.
